the westfield food court will be CARNAGE.

i'm going to go full T.E Lawrence and bunker down in the hungry bedouin, converting the locals to our cause before inciting a hit an run uprising against the hordes of walking heart conditions.

Re Mancs in 67. It was for the league title for them and their fans were there hours before the KO. They did not take the North Bank as in steaming in and fighting for it, they just took it over before our fans turned up. Fucking horrible day, I remember when waiting for a corner, Dennis Law put the palms of his hands on John Charles face, and Charles pushed his hands away, and the fucking ref gave them a penalty. That was my first encounter with pro Man Utd ref bias, and nothing has changed in the past 54 years. They won 6 - 1 I think.

I dont reckon many of them northern cunts would be able to afford drinking in London. They'd be better off taking over an Oxfam shop.

Re: Rumours of trouble tomorrow
There going to be pretty disappointed aren’t they, it’s not like Upton Park and Plaistow, taking over the Westfield eateries and a couple of random Wetherspoons is hardly the Vic, Greengate or Village is it.

Will they be taking over 5 guys in Westfields because it’s hard to get a seat there at the best of times.

Re: Rumours of trouble tomorrow
As a few have said their support at UP in '89 was very big and boisterous. The atmosphere at ER for the away game later that season was raw. We went back to Wakefield after that game to take a couple of mates to Westgate station, told them it would be nice and quiet compared to Leeds Station. Then 200+ West Ham on coaches turned up in Wakefield!

Does ripping seats out and chucking them to get closer to the pitch count?

Sold
My memories are after the game, we were on the corner outside the Boleyn
The old bill for reasons not understood took them out onto Green St then left in front of the pub and away to their coaches down the Barking Rd
Huge mob, could have done what they wanted, not enough nor the quality needed of us and plod combined

We was all drinking in Charlene's when the shout went up that Leeds was here.... that queue of people coming out of UP tube station was never ending... all seemed to be wearing the same stuff... vast majority with the old Vinnie Jones birds nest barnet... I'll be honest I'm surprised they never really tried it on that day think everyone was shocked at the amount they had that day...

The brum lot got a bit lively in the same round a couple of years back.
Dirt cheap tickets and vast availability make it a totally different dynamic to a league game..

Re: Rumours of trouble tomorrow
Wouldn't be surprised if they try it on the old West Ham would have fronted them at all costs.
Different breed now with all the youngsters women and Asians.

Pedro.

Dont really think the amount if tickets they get is relevant mate, they wont all be nutters looking for a tear up.

If there is say 150 of them looking for it,it really dosnt matter if that 150 comes from 900 or 9000.

Re: Rumours of trouble tomorrow
Don’t have to be an expert to think a risk of a lively atmosphere. Surprised they have been given so many tickets. Thankfully not the late Saturday game as that would be have been interesting.

Should still make for a great atmosphere in the ground.

Yep,only time it ever happened. As far as mobs went,Upton Park was a fortress, many had a decent go at it, Millwall in 78 was especially lively but no one ever came close to doing what the Mancs did on that dreadful day in 67.

I think 1967 was the tipping point, never happened after that, in fact I have only seen them run away since going in 1973

Re: Rumours of trouble tomorrow
Best ever away mob was in 1970,Bobby Moore's testomonial v Celtic. They were everywhere.

Closely followed by Man Utd in 1967. This was the day the cheeky fuckers took the North Bank. I found it very confusing as a 7 year old, wondering why i couldnt hear 'Bubbles' like i did every other week.
